SHERBORNE
A connection was made in 2008 between STC Gurutalawa and Sherborne School in the United Kingdom – Dr Hayman's alma mater. Mrs Shalini Wickremesooriya, a Sri Lanka resident in Scotland has been coordinating between our two schools. The students of Sherborne have been raising funds for the many infrastructure development work that is being carried out at Guru for which we are very grateful. Three old boys of Sherborne were with us for a month as volunteers in the 1st Term of 2009. One of them Mr George Berthon was able to take a number of photographs to be shown at Sherborne on his return to the UK. It is expected that we will have another three volunteers in 2010.
